Martha Ann (Baker) Doxey, daughter of John Alvin Baker and Martha Evelyn (Alexander) Baker, graduated from Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL in 1966 with a B.A. in elementary education. She married George A. Doxey, Jr. in June 1968, Danielsville, GA. She graduated from Madison County High School in 1962 as the salutatorian of her class.
She and her youngest son, James Alexander Doxey, died in a private plane crash (Cessna 177RG) over Charleston, WV on March 11, 1985. Her husband and two other sons, John A. Doxey and William "Will" David Doxey of Clarksville, KY, survived the crash. Tail Number of the plane: N1625H
She was also survived by her mother, Martha Evelyn (Alexander) Baker, of Danielsville, Madison County, GA. Her father, John Alvin Baker, who served as a long-time postmaster of Danielsville, GA, predeceased her.
