Herbert Ephraim Orner was born on February 18, 1883 in Strongstown, Indiana Co. Pennsylvania. He was the son of William and Matilda George 0rner. His 1st wife Birdie died in 1906. He then married Annie Ellen Stephens in 1910 in Cambria City, Pennsylvania.(Annie was this writers 1st Cousin) They had three known children during their marriage. She passed away in 1933. His profession was as a Coal Miner working at the Commercial Coal Mining Co at Expidite, Penns. Interestingly he lived through two World Wars. He registered for WWI on 17 Sep 1918 and again on 27 Apr 1942 for WWII. His description listed was 5'6" with blue eyes, blonde hair & light complexion at age 60. Interestingly he was listed in 1949 as living at 730 Horner St in Johnstown, Pa with his 3rd wife Ruth, his profession being that of a Baker in his later years. He passed away on September 29, 1950, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania at the age of 67 and was buried in Strongstown, Pennsylvania.
