Professional Football Player. Herman played for Samford University during his college years before signing as an End with the Brooklyn Dodgers NFL team in 1939. He spent his entire professional career with Brooklyn playing four years (1939-1942) before joining the war effort as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps where he served from 1942-1946.
