Lizzie was a homemaker. Herman held a variety of different jobs over the years. In his early life, he did farm work. He later worked as a clerk and a bookkeeper.
Lizzie was hospitalized in November of 1961 at Jersey Community Hospital while suffering from a brain tumor. She was hospitalized again at Firmin Desloge Hospital in St. Louis for a week before she died there.
At the time of her death, Lizzie was 61 years, 3 months and 3 days old. She was survived by her husband, Herman; 3 sons, Donald, Dale and Leo Klaas; and 1 daughter, Doris Kary.
In addition to her parents, Lizzie was preceded in death by 1 son, Herman Klaas.
Visitation was held at Imming Funeral Home in Brussels on Christmas Eve 1961. Funeral services were conducted at 9 a.m. on the morning of 26 Dec 1961 at St. Barbara's Catholic Church in Batchtown, Illinois.
Lizzie's husband, Herman, passed away in 1967 and was buried next to her.
