Mrs. Slaughter of Henrietta Dies
Henrietta, Texas - Mrs. Maggie Mae Slaughter, 95, long-time Clay County resident, died Thursday in a Wichita Falls hospital after a long illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. H. B. Caraway, pastor, and the Rev. Tiff Covington of Buffalo Springs officiating. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery under direction of Paul Hawkins Funeral Home.
Born May 21, 1877 in Cooke County, Mrs. Slaughter came to Clay County when she was 12 years old and moved to Henrietta in 1944.
Survivors include three sons, Clint of Buffalo Springs, Otis of Wichita Falls, and Codey of Henrietta; three daughters, Mrs. Berda Robinson of Iowa Park, Mrs. Floyce Woods of California and Mrs. Zeola Farar of Lamesa; 12 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
