Col. Dempsey Burgess was her grandfather. his son, Dempsey Sawyer Burgess, 1780-1820, with 1st wife Elizabeth Sawyer, dau of Rep. Lemuel Sawyer, Sr, (brothers were Lemuel Jr and Enoch). of Camden Co., N.C. was her father.
2nd wife was Tamar FORBES, dau. of Caleb Forbes of Camden Co, NC, FAG 46682268, NO CHILDREN, her second husband, Caleb PERKINS and she probably buried with him. FORBES family were from Camden Co. where they lived since 1700, (sister to my 5x gf) under research how many children they had before he died, one source states four.

Father history:

Dempsey Sawyer Burgess, 1780-1820, grave not found, was the son of Colonel Dempsey Burgess, did not follow the 100 years of political involvement of the family, he was first postmaster in Jonesborough, a town created by his father-in-law. He and Margaret inherited considerable land and lived off that. He died age 40.

PER THE SILENT FORGOTTEN BIO of Colonel Dempsey Burgess:
was married to Ellender HARDIN (1772-May 10, 1838, at the age of 66, who survived him and passed away in Livingston, Kentucky, on final resting place is currently unknown. The couple had three children together:
1. Dorothy S. Burgess-Parker (1796- January 10, 1873, at the age of 76, buried in the Ramage-Parker Cemetery in Salem, Kentucky,
2.James Hardin Burgess (1802-1864), died at the of about 62, and whose resting place is currently unknown,
3.Mary "Polly Burgess-ALSOBROOK (1799-June 5, 1875, at the age of 76, and is buried in Woodyard Cemetery in Salem, Kentucky. FAG 41285317
He is also listed as being

married 2. to Tamer FORBES- Burgess (1765-1810), the daughter of Caleb Forbes (1735-1792), and his wife Mary Smithson Forbes (1743-1793), of Camden County, North Carolina. It is unknown where Tamer Forbers Burgess is also buried, but she remarried so it is thought she is buried with her 2nd husband in Shiloh Baptish Church Cemetery in Shiloh, North Carolina.

Dorothy married abt age 16 to Jonathan abt 1812 in N.C. per birth of son Dempsey Burgess (named for grandfather), born N.C.
