Mrs. Bertha Elizabeth Shock, 71, of Beaverton, died on Thursday, Sept. 19, after an illness of several months. She was born on Sept. 1, 1886, in Williams County, Ohio, and came to Gladwin County 50 years ago. The former Miss Bertha Elizabeth Andrist, she was married to Roy Shock on May 8, 1904, in Defiance, Ohio.
She is survived by her husband, Roy; two sons, Wayne and Bernard, of Flint; one daughter, Mrs. Erma Willette, of Flint; 11 grandchildren; one brother, Fred Andrist, of Wasaukee, Wisconsin; and one sister, Mrs. Marie Cochrane, of Beaverton.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, Sept. 22, at 2:30 p.m. at the Miner Funeral Home. The Rev. Retha Holstrom and Rev. Roy Munger officiated at the services. Burial was in Beaverton cemetery.
