“Ed” Kuebler was born and raised in Brutus where he attended the Red School House. He worked at the Oden Fish Hatchery for several years and also raised beef cattle. From 1929 until he retired, Ed was best known by locals and summer people as the owner and operator of Kuebler Shell Service Station and Cottages. He was well known for his cheerfulness and generosity. Often he gave gasoline to those who needed to get to work and had no money. He loved to garden, and was a member of the board of review in Bear Creek Township. He was survived by his wife, a daughter, son, 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one brother and four sisters. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert, and Ernest, and one sister, Martha Brill. The family suggested contributions to the Red School House renovation, or the Little Traverse Conversancy.
