Eldon "Whit" Whitmore, age 91, of Lewisville, passed away Monday, July 27, 2009, in Lewisville.
He was born March 13, 1918 in Lake Dallas, Texas to Rupert I. and Emily O. Ross Whitmore. Whit served in the United States Army during World War II. He married Flo Terry on February 22, 1947 in Grand Prairie.
He is survived by his wife, Flo; children, Linda Eudy and husband,Don, Doug Whitmore, Randy Whitmore and wife, Cathy and Pam Landa and husband, Bob; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Lou Vance and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2009, at Lewisville Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Old Hall Cemetery in Lewisville. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville. The family requests memorial contributions made to the American Heart Association or any organization of donor's choice.
