Jesse Law's parents are: William Joel Law and Mary "Polly" Burgin. His mother died in about 1814 and his father remarried to a Susannah Bain. Between the two wives, his father had 15 known children. Jesse married Sarah Jane "Sally" Staples, daughter of Nathaniel Staples and Rebecca Coons (Kuhn/Kuntz). Jesse's half-brother, Lewis Bain Law, married another daughter of Nathaniel and Rebecca Staples: Cynthia Ann Staples. Lewis and Cynthia (Staples) Law had 13 known children, and Jesse and Sarah Jane (Staples) Law had 10 known children.
