East Prairie-Martha Alma Sweet, 90, of Fontana, Calif., Formerly of East Prairie, died Saturday ,Feb. 4, 1995, at her home.
She was born Aug. 26,1904, in Samath, Ill., daughter of Joseph Henry and Martha Jane Johnston Chunn.
She and Henry Lester Sweet were married Aug.7, 1921. He died June 2, 1959.
Sweet moved to Fontana 36 years ago from East Prarie. She was a member of West side Baptist Church in Fontana.
Survivors include a son, Robert Sweet of Fontana; three daughters, Margaret Foster of Paradise, Calif.,Aletha Hail of Green Forest, Ark., Martha Johnson of Fontana; a sister, Geneve Aubuchon of St. Charles; 10 granchildren, and 17 great-granchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, two grandsons, eight brothers and a sister.
Graveside services will be held at 2pm. Friday at Dogwood Cemetery with the Rev. Harold Norton officiating.
Shelby Funeral Home of East Prairie is in charge of arrangements.
