Louis D. Chapman, 86, of Hastings, died Monday at Oswego Hospital surrounded by his family. Louis was born February 15, 1923 in the town of Albion, the son of Charles and Lois Rickard Chapman. He resided in Hastings since 1952 previously living in Altmar. He attended Altmar Schools. Louis married Mary Elizabeth Miller on January 19, 1952, she died October 28, 2004. He was employed by King Storage Warehouse in Syracuse for 37 years, retiring in 1985. Louis was a member of the Teamster's Local #317, Syracuse. Surviving: five sons, Stephen (Deborah) Chapman of Hastings, Gary Chapman of Greenville, SC, John Chapman of Charlotte, NC, Donald (Diana) of Fabius, and Roger (Stacie) of Myrtle Beach, SC; three daughters, Joan (Robert) Yager of Parish, Jacqueline (Forest) Fleming of Wilmington, NC and Cheryl (Randy) Koegel of West Monroe; one brother, Herman Chapman of North Syracuse, and 25 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski with a burial in Maplelawn Cemetery, Dugway. Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
