AMAZIAH THOMAS
Amaziah Thomas, a life-long resident of Summerville, died in the Brookville Hospital Monday, February 7, 1955, at the age of 86 years and 20 days. He had been in ill health for the past four months.
The deceased was born In Patton, Jefferson county, the son of John and Lida [sic] (Himes) Thomas.
He was later married to Elizabeth McAleer, of Bradys Bend, who preceded him in death.
A retired coal miner, Mr. Thomas was the father of the following children: James, of Summerville; Charles, Clara, Mrs. Elizabeth Sheriff, and Mrs. Sue Anthony, all of Youngstown, O.; and Albert, of Cleveland, O. Also surviving are two brothers and one sister; John and Mrs. Lida [sic] Eakman, [sic] of Brookville; and George, of Summerville. Twenty-seven grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren survive also.
The Rev. J. V. Mountain, officiated at funeral services held yesterday, Wednesday, February 9, from the Stoner Funeral Home in Summerville. Interment took place in the Carrier Cemetery.
