COKER Chester Earl Parker, age 79, of Coker, died Jan. 29, 2008, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ovella Parker Junkins, his father, Grover Parker, and his sister, Betty Parker.

Survivors include his wife, Eunice Pennington Parker of Coker; his daughters, Janet Long (Jon) of Iuka, Miss., JoAnn Harper of Duncanville, Patricia Reid (Frank) of Rossville, Tenn., and Lisa Skelton (Robert) of Tuscaloosa; his son, Danny Earl Parker (Donna) of Coker; his sisters, Mozelle Smith, Helen Stacks (Jerry), and Christine Adcox (Jack); his stepdaughters, Pam DeWitt (Jack), Debbie Woodruff (Woody), Brenda Price (Bernie), Gracie Nelson (Joe), and Gloria Ware; 25 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Mr. Parker was born on December 17, 1928, in Pickens County. He attended Palmetto School and served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. He moved from Pickens County to Northport, where he worked for the State Mental Health Department for 27 years. He was a loving husband, dad, and grandpaw. He attended Ridgecrest Baptist Church. He loved to fish and hunt.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Cunningham, Shane Fayette, Brad Harper, Jason Fayette, Daniel Parker, Jeffrey Cole, Nick Fayette, and Jon Fayette.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Lopez, Dr. Tucker, Dr. Dubay, Dr. Lovelady, Dr. Peramsetty, Dr. Newsome, Dr. Hill, Dr. Salinas, Dr. Graham, David and Betty Smith, Melvin Snow, Bob Hunicutt, retirees from Partlow State Hospital, Brenda and Bobby James, the Coker community, members of Ridgecrest Baptist Church, and members of Rogersville Fishing Camp.
