George was born to A.G. and Dorcas Swisher Handy. She was from Canada; he was from Canada or NY. I haven't figured out how long they were in NE or where they went next.

I found no record of his life until in 1910 in Detroit. He liveded there the rest of his life. He met and married Elizabeth Fredricka Betzner and they had two children. The family lived on Baldwin Ave. in the 1920's and 1930's. George was a streetcar dispatcher and a railway superintendent during those years.

Although George was only a few years younger than his wife, he preceeded her in death by almost sixteen years. .
