Joseph "Jay" Travis Tocco, 45, born August 10, 1963, died on Monday, July 27, 2009, peacefully in his sleep.
Joseph was preceded in death by his grandparents, Maj. Joseph John Tocco, and Mary Katherine Tocco; uncle, Pvt. Joseph Theodore Tocco; maternal grandparents, Travis and Neill Warren.
Survivors include his parents, Michael Lee and Joyce Ann Tocco; sisters, Lee Ann Cressman, Catherine Ragle, Anna Marie Leffew; brother, Michael Daniel Tocco; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and special friend, Denise Thacker.
Those who knew the real Jay all loved him and knew that he had the biggest heart of gold and would give the shirt off of his back for anyone that needed it without asking for anything in return. We pray that God now will grant him the peace and serenity he never had on this earth. He will be sadly missed by everyone that truly knew him.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral with the Rev. Harold Heath officiating. Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to thank all who loved and cared for him in the good times and bad. Rest in peace son, brother, uncle, and friend
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Chattanooga Community Kitchen 727 East 11st, Chattanooga, Tn. 37403.
