Minnie Mae Douglas, 65, of Eloy, died Nov. 13, 2008 at Select Specialty Hospital.
Visitation began at 11 a.m. Monday at the Eloy Church of Christ. The funeral followed at noon, with Eddie Williams officiating. Burial was in Eloy Memorial Park.
Mrs. Douglas was born Feb. 17, 1943 in Okemah, Oklahoma. She moved to Eloy in 1948 and attended Santa Cruz Valley Union High School. She met Ollie Douglas in Eloy and they were married on Aug. 24, 1964. She was very outgoing and loved sports. She was an assembly line packer.
In addition to her husband, survivors include four sons and daughters, Joseph Douglas, of Eloy, James Douglas, of Casa Grande, Vince Douglas, of Phoenix and Marcia Douglas, of Eloy; her mother, Olivia Shelton; sisters and brothers, Bertha Thornton and Lucille Ellis, both of Eloy, Mary Ann Thornton, Josephine Starlings and Marlene Sullivan, all of Phoenix, Betty Gant and Darlene Boles, both of Arizona City, Charles Etta Blair and Ricky Shelton, both of Eloy; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Thornton; her stepfather, Joseph Shelton; and two brothers, Willie and Freddie Thornton.
J. Warren Funeral Services, Valley Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
