Jacob was the son of John and Catherine Wolford. He married Catherine Grapes ca. 1821. Catherine died after 1880 (she's still living when the 1880 census was taken.) Jacob was a farmer. He was also a president of The Fairview Lyceum literary society. The main objective of the society was to educate the youth by debating certain subjects.
Both Jacob and Catherine are buried in graves marked only with field stones. Jacob died of pneumonia.
