Homer Adams Dies

Mr. James Homer Adams, 55 years old, a lifetime resident of Brookhaven, died at the home of a brother, Mr. Oscar Adams, early Saturday. Mr. Adams, was industrious and energetic and had spent many years in different activities of the lumber industry. He readily made and retained friends, and his loss is sincerely mourned by a large circle as well as by relatives. He was a member of the Methodist church.

Mr. Adams came to Brookhaven as a boy with his parent, the late Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Adams, from elsewhere in Lincoln County, when Mr. Adams, Sr., built and operated a shingle mill about where the W. F. Turnbough residence of today stands, and also built a commodious residence in the West End suburb.

A funeral service was held at the Adams family lot in Rosehill cemetery, Rev. A.F. Crittendon, past of the First Baptist church, conducting it in the absence of the Methodist pastor, Saturday afternoon.

Surviving Mr. Homer Adams are his brothers, Messrs. Oscar Adams of this city; Luther Adams, Will Adams of New Orleans and Hoover Adams, to who sympathy goes out in their loss.
