Funeral services were held Friday for Basil N. Cunningham in the First
Baptist Church, Cheyenne, with Rev. Billy Parvin officiating. Interment in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.

He was born December 20, 1923, at Rush Creek in Roger Mills County, Oklahoma, and has lived in this area all of his life, except for the time he served in the armed forces.

He was united in marriage to Ola Maye Reed on May 26, 1953, at Sayre.

After he retired from the armed service, he served as deputy sheriff in Roger Mills County, and was a member of the Oklahoma Peace Officers Association and the V.F.W.

Preceding him in death were his father and one brother.

Survivors are his wife, Ola Maye; one daughter, Sandy; two sons, Brent and Brian all of Cheyenne; his mother, Mrs. Zadie Cunningham of the Hodges Nursing Home, Elk City; one broher, Frank Cunningham, Germeshime, Germany; four sisters, Jo Mayrhofen and Winnell Price of Amarillo, Texas; Ophelia
Hopkins, McAlester, Oklahoma; and Vina Dee Young of Elk City, Oklahoma
