JACK WOODHAM

Jack Woodham, a resident of the Blackwood Community of Dale County, died late Wednesday morning, April 24, 2013, at his residence. He was 89. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 27, 2013, in the Blackwood Church with Reverend Phil Collins, Dr. C.J. Campbell, Reverend Terriel Andrews and Hospice Chaplain Tim Stevenson officiating. Graveside services, with military honors, will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday at the mortuary in Headland. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Blackwood Church c/o Betty Jean Chancey, 2211 County Road 83, South, Headland, AL 36345, Covenant Hospice, 104 Rock Bridge Road, Dothan, AL 36303, or to a favorite charity. Mr. Woodham was born and reared in Henry County, son of the late Lee Woodham, Sr. and Sara Frances Smith Woodham. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Woodham retired from Rebwood Manufacturing Company, and in earlier years, was employed by Dolly Madison Industries in Napier Field. He had also been engaged in farming. Mr. Woodham was a member of the Blackwood Church where he served as Secretary & Treasurer of the Adult I Sunday School Class, and formerly served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. As a young adult, he enjoyed playing baseball. Mr. Woodham was preceded in death by a son, Richard D. (Ricky) Woodham, a sister, Flora Grace Woodham, and two brothers, Lee Woodham, Jr., and Edward J. Woodham. Surviving relatives include his wife of sixty-six years, Quinta Dell Kirkland Woodham, Midland City; a loving son, Ronnie Woodham, Headland; a precious daughter-in-law, Joyce Woodham, Headland; a brother, Thomas Letrell Woodham, Midland City; four grandchildren, Dacia Woodham, Natalie Woodham Cullifer (Art), Ronnie Woodham, Jr. (Katie), and Derek Woodham (Rachel); five great-grandchildren, Michael Enfinger (Jones), Brittni Cullifer, Tyler Woodham, Jack Woodham, and Jace Woodham; several nieces and nephews. Serving as active pallbearers will be Ronnie Woodham, Jr., Derek Woodham, Michael Enfinger, John Kennedy, Myron Johnson, and Randy Armstrong.
