Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in North Amarillo Church of Christ with Brother Cecil Burch officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St.
Nathaniel was born Aug. 30, 1930, in Anona to the late Ross Simmons and Estella Buckner. He married Jean Wilson in 1948 and moved to Amarillo in 1960. He was employed by Southwestern Portland Cement Co. for 35 years. He was a member of North Amarillo Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Larry Buckner; two sons, Lonnie and Billy Simmons; his wife, Billie Simmons; a grandson, Reggie Simmons; and a son-in-law, Eddie Johnson.
Survivors include four daughters, Dorothy Johnson, Velma Samuel and husband P.L., Vickie Woods and husband Dennis and Tina Woods, all of Amarillo; 22 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Ruby Campbell and Gladys Evans, both of Los Angeles, Rebecca Turner of Odessa and Betty Thomas of Plainview; two brothers, Leroy Buckner of Lubbock and James Buckner of San Angelo; and a host of nieces and nephews.
