Son of David and Margaret (NORRIS) HAZELTON.

Charles was a stevedore in Digby. In 1869, at age 16, he emigrated to Baltimore,MD. In 1878, he relocated to Boston, MA, where he eventually became a coal and lumber contractor.

DIES IN IGNORANCE OF DAUGHTERS DEATH

Operation on Hazelton at Time of Accident

His Funeral and Mrs. Cushings at Same House in East Boston

Without learning of the death of his daughter Thursday noon, Charles Hazleton, a stevedore of East Boston, died at 11 o'clock last night at the City Hospital, after an illness of several months.
The daughter Mrs. James B. Cushing was fatally burned at her home 8 Lexington St. , East Boston, and about the same time the father submitted to an operation at the hospital. He did not regain consiousness.
The funeral for both will take place at the home of the father at 1059 Saratoga St., Mrs. Cushing's tomorrow afternoon, and Mr. Hazelton's Monday.
Mr. Hazelton had lived in East Boston about 30 years He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Florence M. Young, Miss Ella M. Hazelton, and Miss Gertrude Hazelton. and three sons Charles, James and Thomas Hazelton.
