Sarah "Gussie" Payne Horne, 82, passed away Monday, July 27, 2009, at Hospice Ministries of Ridgeland, MS.
Mrs. Horne was a residence of Goodman, MS, and was a member of the Seneasha United Methodist Church. She was born in Sallis, MS to James and Mary Alice McAtee Payne.
Mrs. Horne had been involved with the Seneasha Cemetery up until about a year ago because of ill health. She had to give this important position up.
Mrs. Horne was preceded in death by her husband, Alonzo Horne.
She is survived by three sons, Jimmy Horne (Nora) of Sallis, MS, Alonzo Horne, Jr., (Diane) of Grenada, MS, and Charles Horne (Sandra) of Ridgeland, MS. She is also survived by five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5-8 pm at Southern Funeral Home in Durant and the funeral service will be Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at the Seneasha Methodist Church near Goodman, MS at 2 pm with burial in the Seneasha Cemetery.
The family requests that donations be made to the Seneasha Cemetery Fund or the Seneasha Methodist church, P.O. Box 335, Goodman, MS 39079.
Southern Funeral Home of Durant is in charge of the services.
