Mr. Baxter, who was born Jan. 31, 1947, was a self-employed mechanic. He was a former soldier in the National Guard and held his church membership at Wiggins Church of God. He resided in Ackerman most of his life, having only moved to the Gulf Coast for a small portion of time and then returning to Ackerman.
Survivors include his mother, Vivian Baxter of Wiggins; a son, Robert Baxter of Ackerman; a daughter, Amanda Germaine of Exeter, Calif.; a sister, Martha Schonewitz of Saucier; and four grandchildren.'
Services were May 25 at Coleman Funeral Home with burial in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. James Sanders officiated.
