Wayne H. Behrends, 91, died at 2:05pm, on July 26, 2009 at the Mason City Area Nursing Home.
He was born on September 15, 1917 in Havana, the son of Henry and Anna (Glick) Behrends. He married Evelyn Bartels on October 6, 1940 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church. She died January 29, 2007.
Survivors are one son: Ron Behrends of Mason City; two grandsons: Brent (Rosemary) Behrends of San Jose and Mike (Missy) Behrends of Mason City. Two great-granddaughters: Sarah and Mariah Behrends.
Mr. Behrends is preceded in death by his wife Evelyn; one brother Walter Behrends; one sister: Nelda Graff; one daughter-in-law: Diana Thies Behrends.
Mr. Behrends was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Mason County Farm Bureau. Wayne was a farmer for many years. He was also an avid softball player.
