A most unfortunate accident occurred Sunday afternoon about three o'clock when the Dodge touring car belonging to Arnold Boehme of Geneva left the road just this side of Giraffe Creek in Salt Canyon and fell over an embankment about 75 feet high. The car turned over several times and then righted itself.
Occupants of the car were Mrs Arnold Boehme and six children and Dora wheeler, a six year old daughter of a neighbor. The car was being driven down Salt Canyon by Freda Boehme, about 14 year of age, who had only driven several times. When the car started down an incline she became excited and failed to use her brakes.
When the car was raised a 5 year old girl, Myrtle Boehme was found dead. The injured were taken to the Montpelier hospital where it is reported a second girl is very seriously hurt. The six months old baby was pulled from the water in time to prevent drowning.
The car was badly wrecked and it is miraculous that any of the party escaped alive. Funeral services were held in Geneva Tuesday over the remains of Myrtle, the little girl who was killed.
