William H. Jones, residing in Wolcott, Vermont, enlisted as a Private in Vermont on 6 Jan 1861. He was wounded during the war, but survived. He enlisted in Company E, Vermont 3rd Infantry Regiment on 16 Jul 1861 and was promoted to Full Corporal. He mustered out on 27 Jul 1864.
