Snyder "Red Beard" Nave, 82, Life Care Center of Elizabethton, formerly of 126 Arrow Drive, died Friday, Aug. 16, 2002, at the center after a brief illness. Mr. Nave was a Carter County native and a son of the late Ora Gay and Sally Buckles Nave. He retired from North American Rayon Corp. after 35 years of service. Mr. Nave served as constable for the Stoney Creek community for 27 years. He was a World War II Army veteran. Mr. Nave was a member of Caldwell Springs Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray Nave and Arthur Nave; and one sister, Ailene Nave Stamey. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gladys McKinney Nave; one daughter, Barbara Sue Jackson, Kingsport; three sisters, Helen Juanita Fair and Ruth Wilson, both of Elizabethton, and Phyllis Gouge, Johnson City; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Snyder "Red Beard" Nave, age 82, formerly of 126 Arrow Drive, Elizabethton, who died Friday, Aug. 16, 2002, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, from the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton, with the Rev. Darrell Holly and the Rev. James R. Hawk officiating. Music will be under the direction of the Quartet of Hunter Memorial Baptist Church. Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2002, from Happy Valley Memorial Park with the Rev. H. Brooks Peters officiating. Active pallbearers will be Davey Collins, Dustin Collins, Travis Fair, Jeffrey Gouge, Roger Hamm, Mike Cole, Lester Wilson and Frank Green. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim McKinney, Reece Cole, Jerry Reed, Billy Ray Davis, Lawrence "Beardy" Holly, Kyle Gouge, Sonny Fletcher, Phil Asher, Don Pearce and Ray Lawson. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2002, to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, in th
