CALDWELL--Services for Harry B. Barker, 73, of Caldwell, route 3, who died Monday in a Nampa nursing home, will be conducted at the Peckham-Dakan-Davis chapel Saturday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Eldon Shields will officiate. Interment will be in Wilder.
Mr. Barker was born August 6, 1886, in Glendon, Iowa, and moved with his parents in 1893 to Bloomfield, Oklahoma, where he was reared. He came to Star with a sister in 1907 and homesteaded near Wilder two years later. He was married December 24, 1914, in Wilder to Elsie Frank and they later were separated. He lived at New Meadows from 1920 to 1936, when he moved to the Apple Valley community west of here. He was married June 30, 1942, in Walla Walla, Washington, to Elsie Mae Gray and they since have lived in the Boise valley.
In addition to Mrs. Barker, he is survived by a son, Dale of Caldwell; a daughter, Mrs. Ruby Glen of Caldwell; a step-son, Walter L. Gray of Trenton, Michigan; four step-daughters, Mrs. Velma I. Barker and Mrs. Alice M. Barker, both of Boise; Mrs. Helen E. Cress of Eugene, Oregon, and Mrs. Myrtle E. Fowler of Blackfoot; two brothers, Walter Barker of Eagle and George Barker of Panora, Iowa; and 13 grandchildren.
