Apache Services Tuesday P.M. For John C. Andrews
Services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the First Christian church of Apache for John C. Andrews who died Friday, Sept. 1, at the age of 75 years, 10 months. Paul Fullerton, pastor, was in charge of the services and burial was in the Apache cemetery.
John C. Andrews, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Andrews, was born Nov. 1, 1874, in Philadephia, Pa. He came with his parents to Medford, Okla., in 1889 and lived there until 1902 when he came to Caddo county and located at Neola, six miles south and three east of Carnegie.
He was married to Maudie May Shaw Jan. 22, 1905, at Lawton and to this union seven children were born, all of whom survive. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maude Andrews, of Apache; four daughters, Mrs. Boyd Iams and Mrs. James Schneider, Apache; Mrs. Jack Bruce, Redonda Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Edward Sefeda, San Pedro, Calif.; three sons, Louis of Anadarko; John, of Manhattan Beach, Calif., and Eugene of Carpentier, Calif. All were home for the services except one daughter and one son who visited him during his illness.
Other survivors include one great grandchild and 18 grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents; a sister, Flossie; two brothers, George and Louis. Sisters surviving are Mrs. Lizzie Helm of Jones; Mrs. Annie Hartman of Hoehne, Colo., and Mrs. Katie Ayerson of California.
Relatives from a distance attending the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. George Steele, Baton Rouge, La.; Mrs. Estelle Caswell, Bessie Ruth Williams and W.E. Williams, all of Oklahoma City; Gilmore Caswell of Skiatook; Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Shaw, Kansas City, Kan.; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Shaw, Mr. and Mrs. Vermont Shaw and Mr. and Mrs. Dan White, all of Walters; Mrs. Bud Sapp and daughter of Lawton; Mrs. Lela Mendenhall of Temple;
Mrs. Dave Hudgins of Anadarko; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence McCullough, Mr. & Mrs. Eli Tooman and Mr. & Mrs. Jack Newton, all of Fort Cobb, Mr. & Mrs. L.H. Shaw, Mrs. Lillie Dyer, Mr. & Mrs. H.A. Meyers & sons,and Mrs. Truman Simpson , all of Carnegie.
