HAMMOND , HELEN "NANNY" - age 93, of Knoxville, passed away Friday March 22, 2002. She was a long-standing member of Broadway Baptist Church. Mrs. Hammond was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Hammond . Her survivors include, daughter, Christine W. Smith; dearest friend, Faye Humphries, whom she loved as a daughter; grandchildren, Sharon & Tom Scott, Gay & Duane Bradley, Bill & Vicki Smith, Evie & Tom Maynard, Ben & Julie Harkins, Robin & Tim Nichols, Phyllis & Greg Slack, and Jerry Smith; 27 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Family and friends will meet Monday at the main entrance to Highland Memorial Cemetery for a 1 p.m. interment service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Broadway Baptist Church 815 N.
