Obituary - Ashland Daily Independent, Wednesday, March 8, 2000
Lola Skaggs Hamilton, 70, of West Liberty, died Monday in St. Claire Medical Center in Morehead. Mrs. Hamilton was born March 1, 1930, in Morgan County, a daughter of the late Pleas and Gracie Ison Skaggs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Hamilton; and a daughter, Carolyn Hamilton. She was a member of Old Paint Primitive Baptist Church in Crockett. Surviving are a son, William Hamilton of Morehead; a
brother, Dennie Skaggs of Salyersville; two sisters, Ola Blanton of Columbus, OH, and Goldie Cox of West Liberty; and a grandchild. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Herald-Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home in West Liberty by Elders Ed Barker and Lowell Ferguson. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park in Staffordsville. Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
