Spc. Herberth A. Berrios-Campos of Bealeton, Virginia graduated from Liberty High School where he was part of the ROTC program. Even before he was a member, he would practice with the JROTC. In school he was also involved in soccer and cross-country running. Herberth loved to represent the military and what he believed in. He would wear his uniform even on days when he didn't have to. Following his dream, he joined the Army in August 2007 and arrived at Fort Bragg in November 2007. He was sering his first deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. His awards and decorations include the Army Achievement medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon and the Parachutist Badge. He had an energetic youthfulness and humorous personality. He is survived by his mother, Armida Carballos, and his father, Jose Campos. Herberth died at age 21 in Salman Pak, Iraq, of injuries sustained from a non-combat related incident.
