DEATH OF MAJOR TOWLER.
Major Towler, Chief Paymaster of the Department of Arizona, died at Fort Whipple last night, and was buried to-day in the National Cemetery at that place. The many friends of Major Towler will regret to learn of his death. He was an efficient officer, and a gentleman of many excellent qualities.

Death of Major Towler
Major R. H. Towler, Chief Paymaster of the Department of Arizona, on the Staff of General O. B. Wilcox, died at Whipple Barracks at 8 p.m. Sunday August 8th, 1880.
Reginald H. Towler was born in the State of New York, but was appointed Paymaster in the Army from Oregon, March 3d, 1875. Major Towler during his residence in Prescott has made many friends by his gentlemanly deportment and accommodating disposition, as well as by his thorough business habits. Arizona has never had a more popular Chief Paymaster. He leaves a family, who have the sympathy of this community in their bereavement. His apparent age was about forty years. The funeral took place at 2 p.m. today. (contrib by: 47207041)
