Donald "Don" T. Cherney 51, Jamestown, North Dakota, died unexpectedly in his home on July 20, 2009.

Don was born on July 24, 1957 in Kensal, ND to Georgie Ann Samek and Taft Cherney. He grew up in Wimbledon, ND and graduated from Wimbledon High School in 1976.

He married the love of his life, Belinda Thurn on March 3, 1984. They made their home in Jamestown.

Don provided for his family by working his entire career at Malt America. He was a dedicated employee who took great pride in his work.

Don and Belinda have two sons, Kurt and Scott. Don had a passion for cars, motorcycles and hunting. His greatest joy was sharing his love for all things motorized with his boys.

Don was a tender hearted and creative man but most of all he was the best husband, father, son and brother one could ever know. He will be missed dearly.

Don is survived by his wife Belinda, sons Kurt (Fargo) and Scott (U.S. Marine Corps), father-in-law and mother-in-law John and Elda Thurn, Jamestown, sister Betty McMillan (Terry), Wimbledon, brother Wayne (Sue), Devils Lake, sister Angela Haynes (Frank), Albany, MN, sister Connie Hogan (Jack), Hutchinson, MN and 7 nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his mother, father and grandparents.

Memorial Service: 10:30 AM, Monday, July 27, 2009 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to a charity of your choice in Don's memory.
