Wm. M. Feb. 5, 1835-Jan. 19, 1916 - OBITUARY: William M. Carr was born at Miller's Iron Works, Augusta County Virginia February 5, 1835 and was 80 years, 11 months and 14 days old when he died. When very young his parents moved from Virginia to Ross County Ohio where they lived until 1848. Then they came to Missouri and settled at the James Iron Works, where they lived until the spring of 1850. When they moved and located on Brush Creek in Gasconade County now Crawford County. On November 9, 1859 he married Louisa J. Taylor who still survives him. They had been married 56 years, 2 months and 9 days. To this union was born 8 children, five of whom are still living, they are Mrs. Mary Key, Mrs.Addie Treece, Mrs. Della Licklider, William Carr Jr. Mrs. Minnie Houston, Alice, John and Julia died while young.
