Lewis/Louis J(efferson) Laird was born in 1838 in Butler Co., Alabama as the seventh child of William Laird I and Elinder [--?--]. He had eleven siblings, namely: William II, Henry, Winifred Elinder "Ella", Mary, Pennina, James M. I, Louisia, Carolina, Emily, Martha, and Julia F.. He died in January 1863 in Murfreesboro, Rutherford Co., Tennessee. When he was 20, He married Annie Elizabeth Harris on April 25, 1858 in Pike Co., Alabama.

Census 2: 1860 in Walton Co,, Florida Alt. Death: January 1863 in Gum Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Glendale, Walton Co., Florida (He is probably not buried here. but the Laird Family Memorial Stone lists Lewis J. Laird 1838-1863.) He was most likely buried in January 1863 in Murfreesboro, Rutherford Co., Tennessee (Evergreen Cemetery Confederate Circle, Murfreesboro, Rutherford Co., Tennessee as one of the unknown Confederate Soldiers killed in January 1863).

1. Andrew Jackson Laird was born on November 11, 1862 in Alabama. He died on August 18, 1957 in Winnsboro, Wood Co., Texas. He married Callie Brady in 1885 in Alabama.
