Frances Cherny, 87, Frankfort, Kansas died
February 27, 1998 at Dechero Hospital in
Westmoreland, Kansas.

She was born August 2,1910 at Irving, Kansas
the daughter of Phillip and Anna (McCulloch)
Sabin.

She married Alvin Cherny on January 17,
1934, in Holton, Kansas.

She lived in the Frankfort area all of her life.
She served as post mistress at the Winifred
Post Office for fourteen years.

She was a member of the Frankfort United
Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents;
three sisters, Lois Arnold, Edith Stanton
and Alta Shedden; and one brother, Alex
"Bud" Sabin.

Survivors include her husband, Alvin
Cherny, Frankfort, Kansas; her daughter
Mrs. Willis (Norma Jean) Hartman,
Omaha, Nebraska; her son, Gary Cherny
Marysville, Kansas; a brother, Lawrence
Sabin, Pioneer Point, California; three
sisters, Iris Sabin, Frankfort, Kansas,
Jean Herman, Lake Havasu City, Arizona
and Nellie Parsonson, South Gate,
California; eight grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday,
March 3, 1998 from the United Methodist
Church in Frankfort with Reverend Susan
Montgomery officiating.

Lorene Shearer accompanied by Eunice
Samuelson provided the music.

Pallbearers were Buddy Cherny, Gilbert
Hartman, Phillip Hartman, Scott
Sorenson, Helmut Wichtner and Edward
Rudolph.

Burial was in Frankfort Cemetery,
Frankfort, Kansas.
