Olney Daily Mail Obituary:

Herbert A. Lame, 78, of Parkersburg, died at 6:55 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 1997 at Richland Memorial Hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney with Rev. John Records officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Full military rites will be performed by the Olney veterans.

Lame was born Oct. 16, 1918 in Richland County, the son of Alfred and Zelmer (Woodruff) Lame Sr. He married Marian Lucille Orr Oct. 27, 1951. She preceded him in death Aug. 24, 1988.

He was retired from J.D. Hurn & Son Lumber after 35 years. He was a U.S. Army WWII veteran and a member of Olney VFW,

He is survived by two brothers, Irl Lame and Clarence Lame both of Olney; one sister, Trella Lomas; two sisters-in-law, Grace Lame and Margaret Lame, both of Parkersburg; and 14 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers and two sisters.
