Mrs. Klein was born in September of 1918 at Sullivan, Missouri to Thomas and Annie (Tutterow) Helms. She was a life-long resident of the Sullivan area and on August 8, 1935 was united in marriage to Frank Klein. Ollie was employed over 30 years at the Paramount Cap Company in Bourbon. At the age of 12, she became a member of Cave Spring Baptist Church and maintained the oldest membership of the congregation. She was known as a good cook who loved the outdoors. She was also fond of puzzles and cards and was self-taught at needlepoint and crocheting. Ollie enjoyed gardening, especially flower gardening.
She is survived by; one son, Roy Klein and wife Carolyn of Sullivan; two daughters, Rita Crowell of Orange, Texas and Patti Boyland and husband Louie of Sullivan; one brother Walter Helms of Sullivan; one sister, Beulah Edwards of St. Louis; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Along with her parents and husband Frank, Ollie was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanette Berti; two brothers, John Helms and Sam Garner; four sisters, Edna Lambing, Myrtle Bailey, Kathryn Carey and Sarah Garner.
Funeral services were conducted 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 30, 2007 from the Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Brian Dixon officiating. Interment was in Cave Spring Cemetery. Those who desire may make memorials to the American Cancer Association.
