Paul Newby, 68, a former resident of the Boxley community, died Sunday night at Woodlawn Hospital in Rochester after an illness of three days.The deceased was born in Hamilton County, Dec. 31,1892, son of Townson and Sylvia Cook Newby. He had lived in the Boxley area for 25 years before moving to Rochester seven years ago. A life time farmer, he was a member of the Hinkle Friends Church.Surviving are the widow, Lois Newby; four daughters, Elsie Thompson, Anderson; Thelma Martin, Noblesville; Inez Gilpin, Arcadia, Dorothy Newby, at home; 14 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.The following brothers and sisters also survive; Newell Newby, Riverwood; Bernie and Floyd Newby, both of Cicero; Ora Newby and Ruby Lewis, both of Noblesville; Dellie Yansel, Indianapolis and Norma Ballard, Sarasota, Fla. One sister, Nellie Leeman died in 1947 and a brother, Leland died in 1956.
