SUPPLY, NC -- Mrs. Ethel Beatrice Ludlum, 68, of Holden Beach Road, died Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at her residence.

She was born in Brunswick County, NC, on March 10, 1941, to the late James Kliney and Ethel Irene Cheers Caison. Mrs. Ludlum was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed. She loved gardening, and would often be missed if she was not in her yard or garden watering and tending to her plants; she also loved to watch her birds around her home. Recently Mrs. Ludlum attended Holy Light Pentecostal Church where her son Andy is pastor.

The family would like to thank Lower Cape Fear Hospice and especially nurse Rebecca Green and all of the CNA's who attended to Mrs. Ludlum.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hurtis Alex Ludlum in 1986 and her two brothers, Goley and Rudolph Caison.

Survivors include three sons, Reverend Andy Ludlum and wife Demona of Supply, Hurtis Kliney Ludlum of Polkton, NC, Dexter N. Ludlum of Supply; a daughter, Crystal "Missy" Ludlum of Supply; four brothers, Edgar Caison, Sr., James E. Caison of Supply, Tom Caison of Shallotte, NC, Lindsey Caison and wife Lou Ellen of Denton, NC; a sister, Mary Jane Hewett and husband Burton of Supply; three grandchildren, Nicholas Ludlum and wife Rebecca, Brandon Ludlum, Katelyn Ludlum; one great grandchild, Ally Ludlum and a special friend, Donna Newton.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 10, 2009, in the Union Chapel Pentecostal Church with The Reverend Kenny Powell and The Reverend Michael Jacobs officiating. Interment will follow in the Sabbath Home Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM, at Brunswick Funeral Service & Crematory, Shallotte, NC.

Pallbearers will be Timmy Ludlum, Belton Leonard, Jack Huntsman, Brandon Ludlum, John Newton and DeWayne Varnam.
