ANOTHER VETERAN GONE
Philip Shell, aged 68 years, died at the Soldiers Home Friday, and was buried in the Home cemetery.

Deceased was born in New York. He served during the civil war in the First Missouri Infantry commanded by Col. Frank P. Blair, and afterward in Battery H 1st regiment of Missouri Volunteer light infantry. His only known relative is Mrs. Hattie Redfield, of Omaha, who is a niece [sic]. Reverend Elson of the English Lutheran church officiated at the funeral.

Mrs. Hattie E. Redfield and daughter Eva, of Omaha, who have been here since Friday, returned home on the noon train. Mrs. R. is a sister [sic] of the old veteran, Philip Shell, who died at the Soldiers' home and who was buried Saturday. The family is one of the oldest and most respected in Omaha.
