The Kirwin Kansan (Kirwin, KS), Wednesday, March 1, 1916

James J. Power was born in Gentry County, Mo. August 3, 1860 and departed this life Feb 25, 1916 at his home in Sleeper, Mo. age 55 years, 6 months and 21 days.

On March 4, 1905 he was united in marriage to Miss Grace Brazelton. To this union were born four children, Dora Jessie, Erma Irene, Maris Elva and James Henry.

He leaves a wife, four children, a brother and sister.

His health has been failing the last few years and as he seemed to grow worse he decided to change climate, thinking he might regain his health. But he had failed till the change was little benefit to him, for he was compelled to take his bed in December and kept failing till God called him home where there will be no more suffering or sickness.

Although his suffering during the last few weeks was very intense he was patient to the end and passed away in a peaceful sleep in the early morning hours.

The funeral was conducted last Sunday afternoon at the Congragational Church by Rev. Fred Roys Bush. The interment was in the Kirwin Cemetery.
