KILLEEN — Services for retired Command Sgt. Maj. Rod Caesar, 60, of Copperas Cove will be 1 p.m. Monday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen with full military honors.

Mr. Caesar died Wednesday, July 22, in a Killeen hospital.

He was born on Jan. 8, 1949, in Reedley, Calif. He married Sue Pomeroy in 1968. He served 28 years in the U.S. Army. His service began in Vietnam. He then spent a distinguished career as a non-commissioned officer, serving at posts in Kentucky, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Texas. In 1991, he again went into battle during Operation Desert Storm. His decorations include the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years; two sons, Chris Caesar and Ryan Caesar; a daughter, Jenny Cresswell; two brothers, Matt Caesar and Steven Caesar; a sister, Lisa Hall; and a grandchild.
