On 22 August 1970, Ronald married Clarine Aurelia Walz in Stearns County, MN; he was age 21, she was 19. Born 9 August 1951 in Stearns County, MN; Clarine was the oldest of five children born to Walter Joseph & Leona Anna Marie (Worms) Walz.

Ronald second married Mary Lou McClaren. Born 5 December 1957 in Kanabec County, MN; Mary Lou was the third of four children born to Arthur Harold & Margie Mae (Chaffee) McClaren.
Ronald died 27 May 27 2004, at his home in rural Ogilvie, MN at age 55. From his obituary in Paynesville Press:
"Ronald grew up in Regal on the Beier family farm and attended school in Regal and Belgrade. After graduation Ron hauled milk for Kenny and Buddy Trucking from 1967-1971; and Clem Kalhoff from 1972-1977. In 1977 Ron moved to the Ogilvie area and started hauling milk for AMPI. Ron had a passion for farming, cattle, machinery and particularly John Deere tractors. Over the years Ron played on, and sponsored, several softball & bowling teams."
