Lola Fay Henderson, 75, of Abilene, died Wednesday, March 7, 2001, at a local medical center.

Mrs. Henderson was born in Jones County, TX, on Feb 28, 1926, and attended public schools in Hodges and Merkel. She was a retired telephone operator, having worked for Southwestern Bell for fifteen years. She moved to Abilene in 1945 from Hodges.

She married Eura Lee "Curly" Henderson in Abilene on Feb. 14, 1961, and was a member of Hodges Baptist Church.

She is preceded in Death by her parents, James Orie Sims and Anna Belle Jones Sims, a brother, James Ray Sims; two half-brothers, Nolen Woodard and Melcolm "Sonny" Woodard; a half-sister, Molly May Allen; and two step-sisters, Namoni Ledbetter and Gatheral Wilkerson.

Survivors include her husband, Eura Lee "Curly" Henderson of Abilene; two daughters, Palula Sue McCaughn of Orange, TX and Laretha Faye Kraft of Columbia, PA; a step-daughter, Debra Jane Wallace of Little Rock, AR; three half-brothers, Jack Sims of Crockett, Marvin Woodard of Abilene and Jerrel Woodard of Hawley; three- step-brothers, Rupert Woodard of Hawley, Bobby Dean Woodard of Stephenville, and J. T. Woodard of Jacksonville, TX; and a half-sister, Martha Ann Joyce of Rising Star. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Lesa Lovejoy, Tony McCaughn, Angie Hernandez, Tinicia Fuston, Dane Kraft, Kevin De Virgillis, Shelley Stinnett, John D. Paul McCaughn, Jason De Virgillis and Ronda Gomez; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Woodard, Daniel Woodard, Curtis Woodard, Paul Thornton, Tony McCaughn and John Paul McCaughn.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday at Hodges Baptist Church with the Rev. Rocky Burrow and the Rev. Allan Cartrite officiating. Burial with be in Midway Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.

They had two daughters: Paula Sue Stutts, Laretha Faye Stutts and an unknown child in 1955 who must have died young as the family didn't have any information on her.
