Johanna C. Antil, age 97, from the Royalton and Rice, MN passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at the Good Shepard Home in Sauk Rapids, MN.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Royalton with the Rev. Greg Tomhave officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Royalton. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Friday at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Royalton, MN and Saturday from 1-2PM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Royalton.

Johanna C. Antil was born November 24, 1910 in Montevideo, MN to the late Andrew & Hanzina (Brown) Johnson. She grew up and attended school in Montevideo. She was united in marriage to Harley Mead on August 21, 1927. Following their marriage Johanna and Harley moved to Minneapolis. The couple later divorced. Johanna met and was united in marriage to Francis "Frank" Antil on July 20, 1948 in Northwood, IA. Johanna and Frank moved to Rice, MN where they owned and operated Springbrook Resort until 1953. After selling the resort in the early 1960's, the couple moved to the south end of Little Rock Lake and operated an auto body shop. During this time, Johanna also worked at Fingerhut in St. Cloud retiring in 1969. Her husband Frank died in November of 1983. Johanna continued to live at the lake. She moved to the Good Shepard Court Yard Apartments in Sauk Rapids. She later moved to Royalton for a few years and returned to Sauk Rapids in assisting living. In January of 2007, she became a resident of the Good Shepard Nursing Home in Sauk Rapids, residing there until her death. She enjoyed cooking and crocheting. Johanna was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Royalton.

Johanna is survived by her sons & daughter, Harley Mead & wife, LaVerne, of Crystal, MN, LeRoy Mead & wife, Yvonne, of Rice, MN, Gerald Mead & wife, Doreen of Chandler, AZ, Joanne Mead-Krueger of Royalton, MN, David Mead & wife, Arlene, of Rice, MN and Mike Antil & wife, Debbie, of Aberdeen, SD; many grandchildren & great grandchildren & several great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; parents; six brothers, five sisters, son-in-law, Vernon Krueger and a granddaughter, Linda Bailey.

Casketbearers are Tom Krueger, Greg Krueger, Tom Mead, Ron Mead & Don Mead.

Memorials preferred to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or donor's choice.
