Mrs. Peeks and her husband farmed south of Marysville until 1983. She also taught school in a country school in the 1920s.
She was born Nov. 23, 1906, at Hull, the daughter of Herman and Ida Kniesteadt Ewald. She graduated from Marysville High School in 1924, and she took normal training.
Mrs. Peeks was a member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ and the Evangelical Women's Guild. She also was a member of the Schroyer Homemakers Club, Marysville Historical Society and the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program.
She married Henry J. Peeks on Nov. 30, 1927, at Marysville. He preceded her in death Sept. 12, 1975. A daughter, Mary Griffee, preceded her in death in 1976.
Survivors include a son, Robert Peeks, Marysville; a daughter, Shirley Erickson, Council Bluffs, Iowa; a brother, Jeff Ewald, Marysville; nine grandchildren; and 10 great- grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Marysville.
Burial will be at the Marysville City Cemetery.
Mrs. Peeks will lie in state from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville and an hour before service time Thursday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Evangelical United Church of Christ and sent in care of the mortuary.
